StarServe Home Network is an easy, convenient and cost effective system. For instance, the ability to network Pay TV, a VCR and satellite receivers throughout your home can be done at a fraction of the cost of purchasing components for each television. In addition, StarServe modern cabling provides high speed data network which enables four clear lines to communicate through with clear and unaffected by cross-talk. It also allows you to upgrade and network your computers together with any of its shared hardware, like printers and scanners.
The basic system consists of the mechanical enclosure which houses the telephone interface and video distribution amplifier. The telephone card is used to distribute two incoming lines, which may be a phone and fax line for instance, to up to 8 locations in each home. The video distribution amplifier is used to distribute free to air televisions, as well as other services such as cable television, to 8 locations. So now you can watch cable television in any room in the house, with just one set top box.
Once the basic cabling is installed, the system can be simply
added to without the need for any additional wiring. Up to 8 additional components
may be connected via the StarServe system. Security cameras at the front door
may also be added to the system, and turned to your television.
